The weird side of me

So my friends with blogs have asked me to post weird things about me, so here it goes...

1.) I don't care for ice cream I would much rather have frozen yogurt but it has to be soft serve.

2.) I have a visual mind. When people tell me things I see them in my head before I really hear what they are saying. I get an instant mental picture. I can't stop it- sometimes it scares me.

3.) I thrive on adrenaline. I work best under pressure. The more intense the situation the better I perform. Usually I don't realize what I am doing. I'm on auto pilot. When all is said and done, I sit back and think "crap, what just happened?!"

4.) I am an obsessive planner. I have a plan for everything, and a plan if everything goes wrong, and a plan for that too. Kenny often tells me to stay away from the curtains because I will catch them on fire with the sparks that fly from my head. I am completely uncomfortable without a plan.

5.) When I see people the first thing that I notice is whether or not they have good veins for an IV particularly neck veins. I also try to think about what size ET tube they would take (breathing tube) if they needed one, including Jake.

On A Musical Note

Jake loves sports but when it's wintery cold outside, as it has been, he colors, paints, or plays with his musical instruments. He gets very in to it and insists on me clapping along with what ever he's playing at the moment. A few nights ago he grabbed my lotion container, which is in the shape of a disk (body butter), and he clapped his hand against it singing "Amen". He also sings "Jesus Loves Me" to his keyboard and guitar. The drums get the "ABC's" and "Happy Birthday to Jake" and his Triangle gets "Itsy Bitsey Spider". I'm not sure where the muscial side of him is coming from but I do know that praise and worship at church is his favorite time. He walks up to the stage to claim his tamborine and then follows the elders around the room shaking everyone's hands welcoming them to the service. He cracks me up!

Pack-Pack

Jake has been wanting a "pack-pack" for a few weeks now. To the point that he actually lied (unknowingly I hope) to the teacher at school saying another kids back pack was his. Well they don't sell kids back packs anywhere around here this late in the school year and so Kenny's family and I were on a goose chase for one. Finally we found the kid a back pack and he was so excited. We literally can not walk next door without taking it with us. He carries it everywhere! He looks so grown up wheeling it behind him. He's so proud of it, he actually asked me to take pictures of his "pack-pack". I have to check it every night though because the other day I caught him putting left over french fies in it.

Snow Day

Last week we had about a hour and a half of big pretty snowflakes fall. It was awesome! Jake was so excited, he said "wook mom it's 'nowing, I go outside and play football game!" So we dressed and went outside to play for awhile. He had a blast and of course the the video camera was not charged...
