Pumpkins

Kenny gave me a great idea to paint our pumpkins this year, since Jake can't carve them. So here he is getting us ready for Halloween.

Boo ha-ha

Yesterday we visited this street parade that was recommended by my dental hygienist. The city shuts down one mile and the kids get to trick-or-treat the businesses and watch a parade. Jake had fun and is now on his way to a ton of candy! He was a rider on a horse (long story on the costume choice) but this worked out well because it came with reigns to hold and Jake had to hold his bucket so I held to reigns which was wonderful because it was like a leash without the look of child abuse! Anyway we had another fun adventure in our new town!

Pa-Paw

Last weekend Kenny and I went to Hugo to visit his grandpa, affectionately known as Pa-Paw. He has been in and out of the hopsital for 6 weeks and just not doing well. We spent most of the weekend at the rehab hospital. These are some pics to celebrate what is very likely one of our last times with pa-paw.

Kenny's cousin allowed him to hold his little boy. Kenny held this baby for an hour and just walked him, rocked him, and kissed him happily. Do men even know what this does to a woman watching?!

Pa-paw got up for the first time in 3 weeks and e had a sing-a-long out in the lobby, he looked so happy!

He is 84 and I fell in love with him the first time I met him. Jake is his baby.

This particular weekend also happened to be Kenny's 40th birthday! Ha-ha dumb pink hat!

Jake's Soccer Practice

At the beginning of practice the kids sit in a circle and they take turns telling thier names and today it was thier favorite animal and Jake's was monkey.

Then they do some stretching including this one the which is a penguin walk. Jake is getting much better at his ball handling!

They practice dribbling (little kicks) down the field again much improved!

Today they actually set cones all over the field and had to dribble from one end to the other without touching any of the cones. Jake did this twice and never once touched a cone.

The parachute is the kids favorite, they do a bunch of stuff with it and this comes at the end, but lets face it who wouldn't want to sit on a parachute will the parents spun them around in circles and until they were sick (kids and parents!)

And finally the finale 1-2-3- GO TEAM!

Kenny isn't a soccer lover at all and normally I do practice with Jake but I begged him to do it this week so I could get these pics. So many of you have asked for them being the soccer freaks you all are! Anyway I hope that you feel like you were at practice with us this week!

Our Apartment

Before
After

With the economy going the way it is, Kenny and I have almost resolved ourselves to living in our apartment for longer then expected. It is our goal to put about 50% down on a house which puts us in our apartment for at least another year. Maybe 18 months. With that said we are doing some small but homely type things to put our mark on it. We chose this project first because Jake wanted to learn to make things grow. I wanted plants desperately but have the worst black thumb ever! Kenny on the other has a lot of landscaping in his background so this was his project... I love it! We have since added some cute little scarecrows and pumpkins to it for the fall season.

Jake goes to the theater!

Well not really the theater but he did go to see a live performance of Veggie Tales and did great! We had to get there really early because we weren't assigned seats (GA) and he made it through the first 45 minutes and intermission. He got tired about 15 minutes in to the second half of the show and we had to leave. Amazingly most of the kids his age left at the same time. We had fun though and he got a Bob hat which he made Kenny wear also... I only have a few pictures because it was dark most of the time in there.
