A visit with Santa

Christmas is coming so fast. It's exciting because Jake is really understanding a lot now.
I haven't blogged in awhile, it's been really hectic around here. pa-paw (Kenny's grandfather) passed away a couple of weeks ago and the funeral was held the day before Thanksgiving. Jake was so sweet. He kept asking where pa-paw was. It is heartbreaking, how do you answer that? He's 2! I told him that pa-paw went to heaven to meet Jesus. his eyes got huge and he said "he did, how did he do that mama?" To him is was incredible, which it really is! We didn't take him to the funeral because we didn't want him to remember him that way. When I picked him up from the babysitters house he didn't want to come, so I told him we had to go to a party! He jumped up so fast and ran over to me and exclaimed "I'm three now?!", "no", I told him, "it's pa-paw's heaven party.
He is so big! He tells me all the time that he is 2 but he will be 3 on January 9th! He frequently reminds me that he is NOT A BABY! He also likes to tell me that he is a BIG helper! He sleeps through the night in underwear now, thank you! I heard boys are slow about that, but I think he did alright. He is my sweet little boy. I've always loved him, but it's really great to like him! I thought we'd never get through the terrible 2's but we have and he's amazing. There are days I'd love another baby and days the thought makes me think I've lost my mind!
We took Jake to see Santa today. he has never seen Santa before and he timidly told him he wanted presents, a helicopter and airplane. Jake is really into Christmas but we are trying to find the balance of Jesus in it all too. I think we will have a birthday cake for Jesus and a birthday party for Him.
We won't be coming in for the holidays (or at all in January at this point), it's just not in the budget right now. We will, however, be praying for and wishing you all well for the new year!
We love you all!
